Gang sentenced to 50 years in jail!

You then read the report only to discover that fifty gang-members got twelve months each.

Here's an example of what I mean  A judge has jailed 15 dealers for more than 41 years , oh really?

And this one Lovers' 30-year sentence , actually they got 18 and 12 years respectively - quite a difference. At this rate we'll soon see "Shoplifters sentenced to 30,000 years in jail in England last year".

Tough on crime and tough on the reporting of crime!

The main fear of all print media is a loss of circulation and so they must revert to the shock tactics of the age old headlines of Nut Screws Washers and Bolts syndrome in order to get attention.
They have ample ammunition in the sometimes senseless judgements handed down by our too many PC judges.

In this day of the nasties having rights and the goodies having none, we have come to expect such things.
I read the news each day local and national trying to keep up with this crazy world.
My anger blazes at some reports others I squirm at and then we have the laughs, "how could anyone be this stupid" kind of reports.
The media outdo themselves to get one over on the other news programs yet in this time of instant news updated every few minutes we don't really need them do we.
Lets us all write to the media saying we do not need them, they are redundant, I bet that would make them squirm for a change.

Frank -
I came to that conclusion some years ago and I cancelled the Vancouver Sun - Toronto Globe and Mail and the Weekly Telegraph - din't bother them on iota - they still publish daily on the Internet and all but the Telegraph are free for all their articles - so I read the Telgraph least of all ! The Guardian even less !
