Spam on the rise:Just one in 20 e-mails are legtimate !
The above article was published in a Times supplement on 19/3/07 and was of particular interest to me as I have been watching the increasing use of images to bypass ones internal spam filters. It is worth reading through to the end.
I started getting these new spam emails which rely on an image to by-pass my ISP's spam filters a few weeks ago. They contain a few innocuous words to fool the filters, and at one stage I was getting a dozen or more a day.
I thought long and hard about this and I designed my own filter. I was going to give details here but I'll email you instead with my filter rule attached. Since using it only a very minimum of these pests now get through.
